LaDonna M. “Irish” Liggett, 92, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2026.

 

She was born on July 17, 1937, in La Porte to the late Lawrence and Kathryn (Pytynia) Marcinkoske.

 

LaDonna was a proud graduate of La Porte High School, Class of 1951. She dedicated 12 years of service to La Porte Transit before beginning a new chapter in California.

 

On February 15, 1970, LaDonna married Gene Liggett, and together they made their home in San Diego, California. She later retired from R.L. Deters in La Mesa, California, where she worked as a bookkeeper for 25 years.

 

LaDonna will be lovingly remembered by her son, James P. (Sandra) Terry Sr. of La Porte; her stepson, Wade (Debra) Liggett of Pleasanton, California; her grandchildren, James P. Terry Jr., Alexandra (Will) Christner, Andrew Liggett, and Sarah Liggett; and her cherished great-grandsons, Ayden and Elyjah Christner.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gene; and her brother, Gordon Marcinkoske.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph Church, 109 C Street, La Porte, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, prior to the Mass at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

 

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in La Porte.
