Donna Susan Miller, 72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1954, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Paul and Nellie (Jacob) Boyer.
Donna was a devoted homemaker and previously worked as a CNA in the healthcare field. She was a graduate of River Forest High School. Above all else, Donna cherished her family and was lovingly known as the “best grandma ever.” She and her husband, Daniel, found great joy in spending time with their grandchildren, who were truly the center of their lives. She was the heart of her home, whose greatest joy came from caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming place where everyone felt loved. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart shaped the lives of her children and grandchildren, who will forever carry her wisdom, laughter, and love with them.
She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her listening ear, and the countless ways she showed love—through comforting words, shared meals, warm hugs, and the simple moments that became treasured memories.
On February 14, 1989, Donna married the love of her life, Daniel Miller, who survives. She is also survived by her daughters, Lisa (James) Richerson of Chesterton, Indiana, and Scarlette Mirza of Schaumburg, Illinois; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Craft, Christopher Grise, Caleb Grise, Aidan Grise, Scott McCombs, Donna Thompson, Rylan Schwark, Leilani Tunai, Hanalisa Tunai, Veleveini Tunai, and Tanielu Tunai; her great-grandson, Simon Craft; and son-in-law, Siope Tunai. She is further survived by her sisters, Carol Castaldi of Minnesota, Jean Patten of Hanna, Indiana, and Barbara Ralph of Washington.
Donna was preceded in death by her children, Elizabeth Grise, Laura McCombs, and Scott McCombs; her parents and her siblings, Paul Boyer, Tom Boyer, and Jodi Boyer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana, with Words of Remembrance beginning at 3:00 p.m.
