Jason L. Metcalf, 52, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
He was born on March 24, 1973, to Virgil and Georgia "Jo" May (Sullivan) Metcalf.
Jason is survived by his fiancé, Michelle Janas of La Porte; sons, Ron (Dawn) Metcalf of Hamlet, Jamie (Kayla) Metcalf of La Porte, Mark Metcalf of La Porte, and Sam Metcalf of La Porte; granddaughter, Jaiden Metcalf; sisters, Carrie (Michael) Underwood of Chesterton, Val (Mark) Lucas of Kingsford Heights, and Amanda Metcalf of Dayton, OH; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jason was a former volunteer firefighter for the Kingsbury Fire Department. For many years, he was both a member and president of the North Central Indiana Antique Tractor Pullers Association as well as a member of the La Porte County Sunday Farmers and the Rumely Allis-Chalmers La Porte Heritage Center.
He enjoyed trucks and tractors. Most importantly, Jason enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Jason will be remembered as a hard working man that treasured relationships.
Cremation has taken place in Illinois.
A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Brandon Martin officiating. Dinner to follow at the Kingsford Heights American Legion Post 434, 500 Grayton Rd., Kingsford Heights, IN 46346.
