Blanche McCarty

Blanche McCarty, 81 of La Porte passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born on April 8, 1944, in La Porte to the late James Wingett and Angeline Predd.

Blanche was a manager at Salvation Army and homemaker.

On October 18, 2001, Blanche married Dan L. McCarty who survives with a daughter, Diane Brown; sons, William Brown, Mark (Chris) Brown, Jesse (Tracy) Brown; Step children, Bryan McCarty, Nicholas McCarty, Leanne Ebeling; grandchildren, Charity Hensell, Ryan Thomason, Jesse Brown Jr, Sarah Brown, Jon Brown, Benjamin Brown, Margaret Brown, Mark Brown Jr, Marshall Brown; five step grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; siblings, a sister, Carol Sandy.

Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Angeline; a son, Albert; and brothers, James and Ronald.

Blanche loved to paint angels and murals, she was a great artist and an  amazing homemaker. She was a dedicated member of the First Pentecostal Church; and an amazing Sunday School teacher for many years. She loved to cook from scratch and at Christmas time would bake 2000 cookies. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and was very humble and a woman of great faith and prayer. She loved spending time with her family. She loved the outdoors. She spent many weekends camping and fishing on the Tippecanoe River.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the First Pentecostal Church, 1930 Boyd Blvd., La Porte, Indiana.

A Funeral Service will follow the visitation in the church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Richard Hoffman officiating.

Burial will take place at Kingsbury Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Pentecostal Church.
