Michael "Mr. D" Dewberry, 57, Michigan City, Indiana, gained his angel wings on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
Private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN, is handling arrangements.
He was born January 17, 1968, in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Zebedee and Virginia Dewberry, and he was raised in Gary, IN.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Petra Dewberry; daughter, Satrina Shepherd; son, Sidney Holifield; four grandchildren, Patrick Isaiah Mayhams, Walter Mayhams, II, Loy'El Mayhams, and Sabina Shepherd; and dearest friends, Al "Pops" and Mary Castro.
Michael had worked as a counselor.
He was known for one of the best hugs that one could ask for, praising his Lord and Savior, and loving his family beyond compare.
Your love was a blessing to us all, filled with love, kindness, and grace. Though you are no longer with us, your memory we will always embrace. We'll cherish the warmth you gave, the joy you brought each day. Though we miss you deeply, we know you rest in heaven's embrace today. Rest now, dear one, in God's gentle care, where pain and sorrow cease to be. You live on in our hearts and thoughts, a light for all eternity. So farewell for now, our beloved soul, until we meet beyond the skies. Know that you are deeply loved, forever a part of our lives.
