Renee J. Zupko

Renee J. Zupko of La Porte, IN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 5:12 am on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, at Northwest Health in La Porte.

She was born on April 4th, 1960, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to James Patrick and Renee (Moor) Reinard.

On April 20th, 1985, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, she married the love of her life, John Zupko, who survives her after 40 years of marriage.

Renee worked as an LPN for many years after receiving her education at a vocational school in Pennsylvania. After her years of caring for patients at the VA clinic, she and John traveled around the U.S. before finally residing in La Porte, IN. She worked for many years at the Golden Living Center as a cook before retiring.

Renee was a kind and caring person. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whom her family feels the tragic loss of. In her spare time, she enjoyed gathering with family and friends, reminiscing about life. She loved being surrounded by good company and good food. She would help anyone in a time of need, whether it was providing support, words of wisdom, or cooking a meal out of love. She enjoyed cooking and was quite good at it. She loved puzzles, games, and music, and was the ultimate Cher fan. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are her children: Ashley (Steven) Wiltfong, John Paul Zupko Jr, Nicholas (Carissa Taylor) Zupko, Brianna (Darren Lovins) Zupko, Cody Zupko, Cassara (Kolten Trent) Zupko, grandchildren: Madilynn, Shawn, Nikolas, Domnick, Breezyannah, Stella, and Cody Jr, sister: Joyce Munson, several nieces and nephews, and close family friends: Laura Osborn, Logan Prince, Dwight Guider, and Charles Williams.

Renee was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Patrick James and James Patrick.

Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, (219) 362-3333, is caring for arrangements. Cremation has been selected.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at VFW, 181 McClung Rd, La Porte, IN 46350, from 1 pm-4 pm. Family welcomes all friends and family to celebrate Renee’s life.
