Teresa G. Townsend, 74, of Michigan City, IN, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at her home.
Teresa was born on December 5, 1951, in Modesto, CA, to Samuel Kiser and Mildred (Williams) Kiser-Hardeman.
Surviving Teresa are her significant other of 31 years, Ron Plankey; 2 daughters, Debi (Todd) Dankert and Tiffany (Patrick) Coddington; bonus daughter, Kristy Panos; 2 stepsons, Matt (Katy) Plankey and Ron Plankey; brother, Joe (Tracy) Wilkinson; mother-in-law, Cathy Plankey; grandchildren, Michael (Alexis) Bubalo, T.J. Dankert, Owen Dankert, Dayn Dankert, Hailey Jimenez, Gabby Jimenez, Justin Jimenez, Lennon Plankey, Marley Plankey, and Lucy Plankey; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bubalo, Walker Bubalo, Layla Bubalo, and Owen Dankert; pet, Penny Plankey; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sam Kiser; her mother, Mildred Kiser-Hardeman; her sister, Cathy Wilcox; two infant brothers; and her best dog, Lulu.
Teresa was a true free spirit, known for her kind heart and gentle soul. She found joy in life's simple pleasures--tending to her flower gardens, creating beautiful things through crafting and crocheting, and especially decorating for and celebrating Christmas, a season she filled with warmth, love, and magic. Above all, she found the most joy in loving her family. Her creativity, generosity, and quiet strength touched everyone who knew her. Teresa's spirit will continue to bloom in the memories and traditions she leaves behind.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
