Mrs. Margaret A. Goyda, 78, of Union Mills, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at her home.
She was born February 27, 1947, in La Porte, the daughter of William Kraus and Margret (Masterson) Kraus.
On August 15, 2002, in Union Mills, she married Nick Goyda, who survives.
Margaret adored her grandchildren and took them to church with her. She enjoyed swimming in the pool with her grandchildren and loved her husband dearly. Margaret loved to dance and sing. She loved kids and was the best grandmother. Margaret was greatly loved by all who knew her and will be truly missed.
She is also survived by her daughter, Dawn Chelbowski; two granddaughters, Brandy Forsythe and Isabella Chelbowski; one grandson, Harley Forsythe; and six great-grandchildren, Johnny, Nick, Sophia, Kendra, Emma, and Blade.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shannon Snyder; sister, Maxine, and brother, Bill Kraus.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. La Porte, (219) 362-3333 on Thursday, December 18, 2025. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, Indiana.
