Stanley M. Crane, 66, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025, at his home.
Stanley was born on December 8, 1958, in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Donald Crane and Helen (Galko) Crane.
Stanley was a lifelong resident of La Porte and a member of Holy Family Parish, attending both Sacred Heart and St Peter's.  He was a graduate of La Porte High School and built a career with Liberty Mutual as an insurance agent. Stanley enjoyed working out with his friends at Planet Fitness, as well as cheering for the Fighting Irish and the Chicago Bears. He was a builder who loved helping others, and he showed this by rebuilding appliances for the less fortunate and volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. His real passion, though, was his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he lovingly watched grow up.  Stanley was greatly loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving grandchildren, Brenda Emerick, Omaha, NE, and Robert Emerick II, Grand Island, NE; his wonderful neighbors and friends, Joe and Mary Preston and their 3 children; his daughter, Harmonie Crane; and son, Michael Crane.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Josephine; aunt, Josie Galko; and uncle, Matt Galko.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. The family will lay Stanley to Rest at Pine Lake Cemetery on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with prayers from Holy Family Parish.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Habitat for Humanity, 1002 W Greene St, Bldg E, Michigan City, IN 46360.
