Louise Hopper, 100, born July 29, 1925, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 20, 2025, at Willows Life Care Center in Valparaiso, IN.
She was born July 29, 1925, in Springville, Kentucky, the daughter of James and Bessie (Elliot) Bugg. Her parents and four sisters preceded her in death. Hazel Moore, Mabel Decker, Judy Sauter, Sue DeGrotte, and her husband of 65 years, Charles Hopper.
She is survived by one brother, JB Bugg, three daughters, Debra (Randy) Perkins, Patti (Charles) Craft, Becky Baske, and one son, Scott Hopper; four grandchildren: Misty (Bob) Strebe, Ryan (Maria) Garett, Karielle (Paul) DeHart, and Nathan Baske. Five great-grandchildren: Gavin Troche, Kennedy Troche, Garrett DeHart, Rylan DeHart, Luke Baske; two great-great-grandchildren: Everly Kai Troche and Hayes Randall Troche.
On December 31, 1949, she married Charles Hopper at Kingsbury Baptist church.
Louise worked as a press operator at American Rubber and later went on to start the Hanna Hub in 1974, along with her husband. She was a highly talented seamstress and made fancy sweatshirts for every holiday, curtains, dolls, doll clothes, and decorative shirts. Louise was a talented artist who loved to draw, she loved yard work, and highly enjoyed cooking at the Hanna Hub. She cherished attending the Bugg Family Reunions. Louise was a big Cubs Fan, and she enjoyed going to Shipshewana. Most of all, she loves her family greatly and will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm. Pastor Kalvin Morrison will be officiating. Interment to follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.
