Ruth Eleanor Faulstich

Ruth “Eleanor” Faulstich, 96, of LaPorte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Comfort Place in Mishawaka, IN.
She was born August 15, 1929, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Loran Earl and Adeline Inez (Cochran) McCormick.
Eleanor came to the La Porte area in 1943 and graduated from Rolling Prairie High School in 1947. On December 13, 1947, in Hesston, IN, she married George E. Faulstich, who preceded her in death.

Eleanor worked for Howmet for 31 years as an assembler in the wax department before retiring in 1991. After retirement, she became a member of the Red Hat Society. Eleanor loved flower gardening; she was especially fond of roses and was fascinated by alliums, which she always spray-painted red, white, and blue for the Fourth of July. She was an excellent seamstress and made countless dresses for her daughters, including prom and wedding dresses. She also enjoyed sewing for her yard goose and making clothing that she donated to other countries when there was a need.

Eleanor and George had a passion for locating round barns and covered bridges, traveling through every state except for her flying to Hawaii with
family members as her final trip. She also spent several summers exploring waterfalls in Michigan with family members. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles as well as watching the hummingbirds that enjoyed her feeders. She was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Eleanor is survived by her three daughters, Kay E. Keller of Newburgh, IN, Georgette M. (Dennis) Behenna of LaPorte, IN, Roberta J. Marrapode of LaPorte, IN, and son, Phillip E. Faulstich of LaPorte, IN; ten grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Linda Shortt of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Nancy McCormick of LaPorte, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Evelyn Harness, Joan Erickson, Vera (Peg) Wroblewski, and Marilyn Jean McCormick, as well as her brothers, Loran McCormick Jr., John (Jack) McCormick, Searl McCormick, and Joseph McCormick.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Avenue, LaPorte, (219) 362-3333, with Pastor Paul Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
Burial will take place at Lamb's Chapel Cemetery in La Porte.

A meal in celebration of her life will be held on December 13 at LaPorte Liberty Bible Church.
