Robert C. Saum, 77, of Beverly Shores, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 1:40 pm in Michigan City, IN.
Private family services will be conducted. Burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana.  The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN, is handling arrangements.
He was born July 10, 1948, in Springfield, OH, to the late Norman and Mary Jane (Singleton) Saum. On June 5, 1971, in Beverly Shores, IN, he married Gail Gilotti, who survives in Beverly Shores, IN.
Also surviving are his daughter, Leah Saum of Michigan City, IN; son, Robert F. Saum of La Porte, IN; three grandchildren, Emily Roberts, Mya Jaremczuk, and Grace Oliveri; and his brother, Richard (Darlene) Saum of Trail Creek, IN.
He retired as a Longshoreman, spending his off time near Lake  Michigan, where he enjoyed sailing.  
Bob was a dynamic force in the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Throughout his time on earth, he opened his home—and his heart—to friends whom he treated as family. His unselfishness, generosity, and steadfast presence created a sense of belonging that will be cherished by all who crossed his path. A pillar of strength and wisdom, Bob offered guidance with a pragmatic approach and a caring spirit. His absence will be deeply felt by the generations who follow, but his influence will continue to shape and inspire those he loved.
