Ruben Davila Reyes, resident of LaPorte, IN, passed away peacefully at the age of 62 on Monday, October 27, 2025, at home surrounded by his family after losing his battle against lung cancer.

Ruben was born to Enrique Davila Ramos and Irene Reyes Macias in Aguascalientes, Mexico, on December 14, 1962. He is survived by his father, Enrique Davila Reyes, three children, Mayte Davila (Medina), Teresa Davila, Ruben Davila Jr, and two grandchildren, Jiancarlo Medina and Sophia Medina. He is preceded in death by his mother Irene Reyes Macias and first-born son Luis Enrique Davila Campos. 

Ruben was an accomplished automotive engineer who graduated from SEP Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes and worked as a supervisor at Nissan Aguascalientes. He later immigrated to the United States, where he became one of the founders of a Mexican grocery store entitled Hacienda San Marcos, meanwhile working for over 20+ years at Lewis Bakery in LaPorte. He leaves behind all the love he shared and the impact he made on people's lives. His spirit lives in the stories we tell and the words of wisdom he shared. Ruben, a beloved son, brother, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend, will truly be missed.

Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Ave. La Porte, IN, is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 4 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will take place.

Ruben Davila Reyes, 62 años, residente de Laporte IN, pasó a mejor vida con mucha paz el lunes 27 de octubre del 2025 en casa rodeado de su familia después de perder una batalla de cáncer del pulmón. Rubén hijo de Don Enrique Dávila Reyes y la Sra. Irene Reyes Macias nacida en Aguascalientes, México el 14 de diciembre del 1962. Le sobrevive su padre Don Enrique Davila Reyes, sus tres hijos Mayte Davila (Medina), Teresa Davila, Ruben Davila Jr. y sus dos nietos Jiancarlo Medina y Sophia Medina. Lo procede en muerte su madre la Sra. Irene Reyes Macias y su primer hijo Luis Enrique Davila Campos.

Ruben realizó una carrera en Ingeniería Automotriz graduado de la SEP Instituto Tecnológico de Aguascalientes, trabajó como supervisor en Nissan Aguascalientes. Después emigró a Estados Unidos donde fue uno de los fundadores de un establecimiento local la tienda mexicana Hacienda San Marcos, mientras trabajó por más de 20 años en Lewis Bakery en LaPorte. Rubén nos deja todo el cariño que compartió y el impacto que nos deja en la vida de todas las personas. Su espíritu vive en las historias que contaremos y en las palabras de consejo que compartía. Rubén, un amado hijo, hermano, padre, suegro, abuelo, y amigo será siempre extrañado.
