Linda Katherine Krause, 70, of Mill Creek, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home with her devoted husband, Robert Slap, and an assembly of sisters at her side on Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

Linda was born on February 11, 1955, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late Frank and Bunny Krause.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Slap, her brother Glenn (Joan) Krause, and five sisters: Diane (Jim) Weiler, Corinne (Krause) Smith, Debbie Krause, Donna (Lou) Piludu, and Kahne (Ira Lichtman) Krause.  A special thanks to our sister Donna (RN), whose selfless care has been a source of strength and comfort for us all. 
Now for the fun part - Linda graduated from the nursing program of Indiana University. She was an extraordinary nurse who spent her professional career in Southern California and Indiana. Linda met the love of her life, musician Robert Slap, in Scottsdale, AZ. They settled in Ventura County for the next decade. They eventually returned to Northwest Indiana, where they enjoyed life on a beautiful farm and celebrated 36 years of marriage. Linda was a master gardener, delighting her family and friends with bounty from her incredible garden. With her natural affinity for animals, she opened her heart and home to many rescued dogs and cats. Of the seven Krause kids, she had a wicked sense of humor, leaving her siblings in hysterics on many occasions. Her culinary skills inspired those around her to gather, savor, and celebrate. While she may be gone in body, her vibrant spirit continues to shine.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN 46360, is handling arrangements.
