Frederick "Fred" Wayne Sullivan, 75, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 4:34 p.m., Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at his home.
He was born on December 15, 1949, in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Harry F. Sullivan and Margaret (Bealor) Sullivan.
On July 11, 1973, in Colorado Springs, he married Diana (Shelton) Sullivan, who survives.
Fred was a proud United States Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a skilled cement mason and retired from Local 692. He loved to spend time fishing, cruising, attending concerts, playing cards, going out on his pontoon boat, and listening to music. He shared many memories of spending time with his grandparents, Wayne and Ellen Bealor, gardening, and canning. Fred enjoyed spending a lot of time with his friends; however, most of all, he loved his family greatly and will be truly missed.
He is also survived by his daughter, Nicole (Brian Rittenberg) Thode; three sons, Joshua (Lori) Sullivan, James (Kacey) Sullivan, Joe Sullivan; two sisters, Nancy (Ed) Kowalski, Sanda (Rich) Miko; brother, Paul (Jan) Shelby; six grandchildren, Trevor Luther, Brooke Sullivan, Keaton Sullivan, Kohler Sullivan, Anna Sullivan, and Fara Sullivan.
Frederick was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave, La Porte, (219) 362-3333.
