Frederick “Fred” Frank Fahrberger, November 11, 1949 – August 19, 2025.
Frederick “Fred” Frank Fahrberger, 75, of La Porte, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in La Porte, Indiana.
Fred was born on November 11, 1949, in Chicago, IL, to Louis and Irene (Schmidt) Fahrberger.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou (Jankowski) Fahrberger, of nearly 50 years.
Also surviving are one daughter, Irene (Alan) Reed of Dayton, TN; one son, Joseph Fahrberger of LaPorte, IN; one sister, Christine (Frank) Mrozek; one brother, Louis (Kathleen) Fahrberger; two nephews, Frank and Bradley; one niece, Christina Collura; and his beloved Golden Doodle, Goldie.
Preceding in death were his parents; one sister, Marilyn Collura; and one brother, Steven Fahrberger.
Fred owned Village Bake Shop in Chicago, IL, New Buffalo, MI, and LaPorte, IN. He attended Marmion Military Academy in Aurora, IL, and Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, IL. After retiring from Village Bake Shop, Fred became a realtor with Keller Williams Realty of New Buffalo, MI. Fred was friendly and outgoing and enjoyed boating, cruising, and cooking for family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Holy Family Parish - Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 Bach Street, LaPorte, IN 46350, with Father Alexander Kouris officiating.
Entombment will take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL, at a later date.
