Annette Lucille Baker, August 11, 1944 - August 8, 2025.
Annette Lucille Baker, 80, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in Life Care Center of Michigan City, following a two-year battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with Pastor Rich Stoll officiating. A private burial will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral chapel.
She was born on August 11, 1944, in South Haven, Michigan, to the late James Herbert Teeters Sr. and Rose L. (Novak) Teeters. She graduated from Elston High School in 1962. On May 7, 1966, in Michigan City, Indiana, Annette married Gary James Baker, who preceded her in death on October 18, 2013.
Annette worked as a secretary for several local companies, including Pullman-Standard, in both the Michigan City, IN, and Chicago, IL, locations, Sullair Corporation, and Jaymar-Ruby, from where she retired after 28 years. She also volunteered at the Old Lighthouse Museum in Michigan City and enjoyed the rich history surrounding the local lakefront. Annette later became the volunteer secretary of the Michigan
City Historical Society.
Annette is survived by her sister, Donna Teeters of Knoxville, TN; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Teeters of Michigan City, IN, Lauri Baker of Portland, OR, and Pam Koselke of Valparaiso, IN; three brothers-in-law, Richard Baker of Michigan City, IN, Bryce (Thalia) Baker of La Porte, IN, and Robert Baker of San Mateo, CA. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, James H. Teeters, Jr., and two brothers-in-law, Leonard Koselke and Dennis Baker.
She enjoyed going to the movies and out to dinner with family and friends. Annette always made the holidays special for her family and would light up any room with her warmth and kindness. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered always.
