Edmund J. Kuta, 85, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Ed was born February 8, 1940, in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Thomas and Carrie Kuta.
On April 22, 1961, Ed married Patricia Purcell, who preceded him in death on December 14, 2019.
Ed worked as a bindery operator at many printing shops. He also worked at Thunderbird Lanes and Casey's Lanes and was the owner of Ed’s Lawn Service.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church. Ed was very active in bowling leagues and was always a friendly and happy person who had many friends.
Ed is survived by a granddaughter, Bailey (Josh) Fitzgibbon of Greenwood, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Declan Bonds; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Kuta of La Porte, Indiana; a special niece, Jennifer (Andrew) Thompson of La Porte, Indiana; sisters, Evelyn Mick of La Porte, Indiana, Dolores Dusseau of La Porte, Indiana, and Ilene Pointon of La Porte, Indiana; brothers, Eugene Kuta of Tennessee, Thomas Kuta of Michigan City, Indiana, and Stanley Kuta of La Porte, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pat; son, Douglas Kuta; sisters, Geraldine Wedow and Helen Pointon; and brothers, Frank Kuta, Richard Kuta, and Joseph Kuta.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Holy Family Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 201 Bach Street, La Porte, Indiana. Reverend Alex Kouris will officiate.
Family and friends may visit the funeral home before the Mass from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday.
