Marta Kier, October 3, 1959 -June 29, 2025.
Marta Kier, a beloved soul who brought joy and warmth to everyone she met, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at Northwest Health-Porter, leaving a legacy of love that will resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Born on October 3, 1959, in La Porte, Indiana, Marta's heart was as big as her hometown, and throughout her life, she embraced the people around her with open arms.
Growing up surrounded by love, Marta carried the values instilled in her by her parents, Kenneth and Angie Kier, who have since departed but remain cherished in memories past. Along with her late sister, Fran Thompson, Marta navigated life's journey, fostering deep connections and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Marta was a sister to John, Kenny, and Aimee Lincicome. She was the kind of person everyone seemed to love—her infectious smile and kind spirit had an unparalleled ability to light up a room. Those who were fortunate enough to share their lives with her knew her as a loyal friend who was always ready with a laugh and a warm word of encouragement.
Marta had an undeniable zest for life. Her love for Disney brought out the child in everyone around her, and nothing delighted her more than sharing a meal and ice cream with friends at McDonald's—a simple joy that illustrated her down-to-earth spirit. She found solace in beloved television shows like "Bewitched" and "Wonder Woman" and spent many afternoons immersed in word search games, each puzzle a reflection of her vibrant and playful personality.
A visitation will be held on July 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Haverstock Funeral Home Inc. in La Porte, followed by a funeral service starting at noon. Marta will be laid to rest at Pine Lake Cemetery after the service, concluding a life that touched many hearts.
As we gather to celebrate Marta's life, we honor her as a sister, a friend, and a person whose spirit embodied kindness. The love she shared will forever echo in our lives, reminding us of the beauty of connection, laughter, and shared moments. Though she may have departed this world, her light will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those who loved her.
