Doris M. Wilson, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:36 pm in Michigan City, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana, with Pastor Trish Johnsen officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 2:00 PM until the time of service in the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born September 13, 1940, in Blandville, Kentucky, to the late Harry Lee and Mabel (Owsley) Wyman. On July 27, 1957, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married John H. Wilson, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1999.
Surviving are two daughters, Lori Patterson of Michigan City, Indiana, and Christy (Richard Wilson) Wilson of Newmarket, New Hampshire; two sons, James (Carrie) Wilson of Seneca, South Carolina, Larry (Jane) Wilson of Michigan City, Indiana; twelve grandchildren, John Wilson, Paul (Cheryl) Moore, Kenneth "Duane" (Gina) Patterson, Brian (Natacha) Patterson, Shaneta Patterson, Kristen (Brian) Noonan, Nicholas (Jennifer) Wilson, Brad (Michelle) Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Cheyenne (Alexis Schleer)Tilden, Brian Noonan, and Caleb Cornett; twelve great-grandchildren, Savanha Moore, Xavier Moore, Gabriel Moore, Damien Patterson, Eva Patterson, Gage (Kaileigh Madison Brim) Wilson, Parker Laffoon, Memphis Blackshire, Colt Wilson, Magnolia Wilson, Connor Wilson, and Brayden Wilson; She was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Wyman; two sisters, Carolyn Arrington and Ann Hagood, along with her son-in-law, Kenneth Patterson.
Doris retired from MetLife Insurance after many years as a sales representative. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Michigan City, where she volunteered with numerous church projects, one of which was the 1st Friday church booth, which provided space for art, entertainment, and community groups. She was also a member of the Michigan City Art League and a master gardener.
