Kenneth D. Tuesburg

Kenneth D. Tuesburg of Hanna passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Miller’s Merry Manor in LaPorte, following an illness.

He was 92 years old. Kenny was born on April 17, 1933, in Knox, Indiana, to the late Claude and Hazel “Pauline” (Alcorn) Tuesburg. A lifelong resident of the area, he married the love of his life, Margery (Childs), on April 7, 1956, in Hamlet. Together, they built a life full of love, hard work, and family.

Kenny was a man who truly loved to work. A retired machinist from Berkel Inc., he dedicated over 35 years to the company. But even in retirement, he never stopped moving. He was a gifted handyman who could fix just about anything—cars, furniture, yard tools—you name it, Kenny could do it. His passion for craftsmanship could be seen in the many beautiful pieces he built, from furniture to creative lawn decorations. His yard was a source of pride and joy, always kept tidy and well-tended, reflecting his dedication and attention to detail.

But above all else, Kenny’s greatest joy came from his family. He was a proud and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He rarely missed a ball game, cheering on his grandkids and great-grandkids from the sidelines with pride in his heart and a smile on his face.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Margery; his two children, Janice (James) Spier and Jerry (Sheri) Tuesburg; four granddaughters, Cassandra Spier, Brianna Whitsitt, Kylee (Daniel) Gross, and Skylar Whitsitt; and six great-grandchildren, Kai and Finn Stanton, Luch Hopkins, Bodhi and Tyson Gross, and Griffin Leiss. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will deeply miss his steady presence and kind spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter, Jill Tuesburg, and his brother, William Tuesburg.

A graveside service to honor Kenny’s life will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Hanna Cemetery. Per his wishes, there will be no additional services or viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause Kenny believed in and supported. Kenny’s legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and deep love for his family will continue to inspire all who knew him.
