Eddie Lynn Dowdy, 69, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Northwest Health La Porte. 
Eddie was born on July 20, 1955, in Waco, TX, to J.D. and Willie (Bodie) Dowdy.
On October 18, 2004, in Southlake, TX, he married Margaret Turner, who survives. Also surviving are his 5 children, Jay Dowdy, Maria Ethridge, Amanda Davill, Nena Diaz, and Clinton Mitchell; 4 grandchildren, Gavin Ethridge, Ethan Ethridge, Natalie Davill, and Makayla Ethridge; 2 sisters, Betty Dowdy and Sharon Dowdy; 2 brothers, J.D. Dowdy and Robert Dowdy; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eddie was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1975 to 1979. While enlisted, he received both the Rifle and Pistol Sharpshooter Badges, as well as the Good Conduct Medal. 
He was a manager for many years. He enjoyed fishing and repairing lawn mowers.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
