Gerald Dean Yaw, February 17, 1946- June 3, 2025.

Gerald "Jerry" Dean Yaw, 79, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2025, in Miami County, Indiana.
He was born February 17, 1946, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Blanch Reyna. Gerald was raised by his mother and stepfather, Roberto Reyna, both of whom preceded him in death.
Jerry grew up in Gary, IN, and moved to La Porte as a young adult. He worked at Bernacchi Garden Center in various positions, retiring in 2011. Jerry was active with the Salvation Army Church, and he enjoyed meeting friends at Archie's for coffee and conversation. In 1995, he married Cheryl Crowe in La Porte, and together they bowled in leagues and visited casinos. Jerry was very fond of his dogs, was a fan of Notre Dame sports, and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cheryl; daughter, Cynthia; sons, Roberto, Gerald, Christopher, and Jerry Dean; brother Robert (Kim) Yaw Jr; sisters, Renita Reyna, Sheila Reyna, Rosie (Norman) Perzo, Barbara Reyna, Roberta (Joe) Serafin, Carol Ann (Jeff) Easton; grandchildren Jessica, Crystal, Danielle, Tina, and several great-grandchildren and nieces and
nephews.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Cremation has been selected.
