Kenneth Alex Peterson, May 5, 1961-May 12, 2025.

Kenneth "Kenny" Alex Peterson, 64, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at his home. 

He was born May 5, 1961, in Gary, Indiana, the son of Robert Walfred Peterson and Anita (Olsen) Peterson, both of whom preceded him in death.

Kenny moved from Chesterton to La Porte when he was a child and graduated from La Porte High School. He went on to plumbing school before beginning his career with Nipsco as a gas serviceman. 17 years ago, he met Teresa Sullivan and they have shared a life together ever since. Kenny loved his job and was very knowledgeable in his field. He was a former yacht club member who owned a pontoon boat and enjoyed being on the lake. He was a current member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, La Porte, and a huge supporter of President Donald Trump. His passion, though, was spending time with his many friends, sitting around the fire pit, listening to music, and sipping a Stroh beer.  

He will be greatly missed by his survivors, including his girlfriend, Theresa Sullivan of La Porte, IN; son, Alex Peterson of Michigan City, IN; two brothers, Kurt (Barb) Peterson of Haubstadt, IN, Keith (Connie) Peterson of Bass Lake, IN; 3 grandchildren, Kayla, Tony and Skylar and four nieces, Alyssa, Ericka, Kelly and Amy.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN, where the family will hold a gathering of family and friends with a viewing on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from Noon until 3:00 p.m. Cremation will take place and his cremated remains will be interred at a later date at Carmel Cemetery, La Porte.
