Jeanne Marie Swanson, 97, of La Porte, IN, passed away on April 21, 2025, at Settlers Place.

Jeanne was born on December 5, 1927, in Michigan City, IN, to James and Laura (Cloutier) McNamara.

On November 24, 1949, in Peru, IN, she married Charles Swanson, who preceded her in death. Surviving Jeanne are her 4 children, James (Linda) Swanson of La Porte, Robert (Jenifer) Swanson of La Porte, Christine (Steve) Philburn of Noblesville, and Jennifer (David) Harp of Noblesville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Rhodes of WV; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles; daughter, Carol J. Swanson; and sister, Shirley Angsten.

Jeanne was a homemaker, enjoying her years raising her children.  She enjoyed watching TV, completing needlepoint, and reading.  Most importantly, Jeanne dearly loved the time spent with her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until procession to the church on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
