Michael J. Weaver, August 22, 1949-March 7, 2025.

Michael J. Weaver, 75, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Addison Pointe in Chesterton, IN.

He was born August 22, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. He departed this life on March 7, 2025.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Emily Serbent, and step-father Carl Serbent. He is survived and leaves to cherish his memories by his brother John Weaver, niece April Clermont, and a great nephew Joshua Weaver. A devoted friend Jerry Jacks of Illinois and two devoted neighbors Michael Pavlack and Christy Carnes, both of Michigan City, Indiana.

Michael lived a life that most could only dream of. He was a businessman and a collector, and he loved to cook. He had an eye and love of beautiful stained-glass windows. He owned restaurants in Arizona, Chicago, and Michigan City. He also owned bars in Illinois. He traveled extensively and had homes in Puerto, Illinois, and Michigan City. He enjoyed days on Lake Michigan with his friends, and when he was not entertaining, he enjoyed reading. But nothing compared to the love he had for his cats, Pig-Nose, Sylvester, and Moochie to name a few. 

There are no words that could describe the void that has been left. You now have a new body with no pain. Rest well until we all meet again. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN, where the family will receive friends. A life celebration will be held at a later time. Cremation has taken place.
