Sylvia Annette Thompson, 88, of La Porte, IN, passed away on March 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Sylvia was born on July 2, 1936, in Wanatah, IN, to Lawrence and Pauline (Bruck) Machler.

Surviving Sylvia are her 3 sons, Daniel (Terry) Thompson, Ronald (Vickey) Thompson, and Brian (Anna) Thompson; 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great, great-grandchild; sister, Lillian Norton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Garry (Paula) Thompson; brothers, Philip, Ronald, Donald, George, Douglas, and Robert Machler; and special little dog, Chico.

Sylvia worked as a department leader at Howmet for many years.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church.  Sylvia loved farming and working outside, where she loved viewing God's creation.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Eddie Heavner officiating. Burial will follow at Kingsbury Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
