Patsy J. Hurt, 73, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Brickyard Health-La Porte Care Center.
Patsy was born on May 15, 1951, in Colbert County, AL, to Tom L. and Ruby E. (Randolph) Hamm.
Surviving Patsy are her children, Patrick D. Hurt and Jason I. Hurt; grandchildren, Lindsey N. Hurt, Corey Hurt, Blade Hurt, Donald A. Carter, Brittney P. M. Carter, Cheyenne S. Carter, Angelina A. Hurt, Amy N. Hurt, Cara Hunt-Gilreath, Blake D. Hurt, Amerika Hurt, Cyla Hurt, and Isaac Hurt; great-grandchildren, Adalynn C. Hurt Jr., Eli Hurt, Sebastian C. Carter, Waya M. Carter, Theodore E. Carter, Mahkinzee L. Carter, Hayeliee M. Britten, Adahlinn J. Britten, Ayden W. Moore, Alexander C. Moore, Brayleen D. Easton, Grayson L. Easton, Ezekiel L. Gilreath, and Olivia Johnson; siblings, Wilma P. Hamm and Jackie W. Hamm; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hurt; parents; children, Roy D. Hurt, Jr., Kathy L. Hurt, and Louis M. Hurt; grandson, Kaleb C. Carter; great-grandson, Zane R. Hurt; and siblings, Robert J. Hamm, Bob R. Hamm, Joyce A. Hamm, Chester L. Hamm, James W. Hamm, Peggy L. Hamm, Kathy D. Hamm, and Carmon L. Hamm.
Patsy took great pride in her home and in providing care for her family. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, people-watching, and being outside drinking her coffee and bird-watching. Patsy fondly remembered and enjoyed her time and memories from living in Leachville, AR.
She has left beautiful memories with her grandchildren. Patsy loved taking walks on the trails, collecting unique rocks and beautiful flowers, with them, just as she did with her sister in their youth. In addition to the trail walks, Patsy enjoyed taking her beloved grandchildren for bike rides on the back of her red "Pee Wee Herman" bicycle.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
