LaVena Edith Moore, 79, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at her home. 

LaVena was born on November 28, 1945, in Hamilton, IL, to Lee and Elvie Williams.

On October 15, 2005, in La Porte, IN, she married C. Michael "Mike" Moore, who survives. Also surviving are her 4 daughters, Amy Schammert of St. Cloud, FL, Christy Anderson of Davenport, FL, Rachel Cox of Willow Springs, MO, and  Megan Schammert of Thomaston, GA; 5 grandchildren, Michaela Rodgers of Willow Springs, MO, Mackenzie Woods of Willow Springs, MO, McKenna Ryan of Willow Springs, MO, McKylie Cox of Willow Springs, and Casey Anderson Of Davenport, FL; 2 great-grandchildren, Halynn and Kaison Rodgers; brother, Carol Williams of FL;  as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Bradley and Alice Moore; and brothers, John, Dale, and Denis Williams. 

LaVena worked at US Steel for many years.  She enjoyed traveling and scrapbooking. 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
