Samuel John Kruis - January 2, 1971 - February 5, 2025
On February 5, 2025, heaven welcomed a beautiful soul. Samuel John Kruis was a man who could light the darkest corners of the world. He was selfless, always putting others first. When he asked, “How are you doing?” not only did he truly mean it, but he wanted to figure out how he could make it even better. He was driven, always working to be the best he could be. In his professional career, Samuel was a trader at CME and CBOE before forging a new path in the waste and recycling industry. In his personal pursuits, he was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of Michigan City, IN; a chef who mastered the art of smash burgers; and a memory maker with his many (many) exciting home projects and gatherings in Long Beach, IN. Lastly, Samuel was immensely proud, always pointing to his children and their successes as his greatest accomplishment.
Samuel lives on through his wife, Kathleen Ann (Burdett) Kruis; four sons, Ryan (Ashley) Pinto, Dylan Pinto, Connor Pinto, and Liam Kruis; two daughters, Shea Kruis and Delaney Kruis; his mother, Eleanor Rosalind (Coyle) Kruis; two grandchildren, Beckham Pinto and Banks Pinto (sons of Ryan and Ashley); two brothers, Brian (Heather) Kruis and Sean (Beth) Kruis; and sister, Anne Penney. Samuel was also a proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Kruis.
