LaDonna Mae Siegmund, 83, from Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 10:27 a.m. in Ernestine M. Raclin House, Mishawaka, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at noon, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral chapel.
She was born on December 3, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana, to the late George and Josephine (Demski) Boguslawski. On February 11, 1961, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Donald George Siegmund, who preceded her in death on January 28, 2003.
Surviving are her son, Scott (Dawn) Siegmund of Michigan City, Indiana; daughter, Tammy (Chuck) Zabel of Three Oaks, Michigan; sister-in-law, Barbara Plimling; niece, Megan Boguslawski; nephew, George Boguslawski; eight grandchildren, Adam Siegmund, Zachary Siegmund, Keith Zabel, Kevin Zabel, Nicole Zabel, Jason Barnes, Sara (Jesse) Underdown, and Logan Sanchez; and seven great-grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Ingrid, Lynden, Greta, Benjamin, and Nathaniel.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Don Siegmund; and one brother, Terry Boguslawski.
LaDonna was a caregiver for 40 years and owned and operated an adult foster home. Previously, she operated a sandwich truck for 20 years. Currently, she is the landlord to many tenants at her apartment building. Known to be an entrepreneur, having different business adventures over the years.
LaDonna enjoyed arts and crafts, visiting the senior center, going to the gambling boat, and out to eat with family and friends. She enjoyed helping others, and always held a happy demeanor, even toward the end of her life.
