Douglas John Grott, 58, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at 6:13 pm in his home.
Private family services will be conducted. The burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN, is handling arrangements.
He was born December 11, 1966, in Michigan City, IN.
Surviving are his father, Bernard Grott of La Porte, IN; two sisters, Joyce (Kevin) Ahlgrim and Mary Grott both of La Porte, IN; two brothers, Roger (Staci Mitchell) Grott of La Porte, IN, and James (Lisa) Grott of New Carlisle, IN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Grott; brother, Paul Grott; and nephew, Jacob Grott.
Doug was a very talented Carpenter and Mason. He enjoyed playing football and helping 4-H kids with their beef cattle. Doug was kind-hearted and was always helping others.
