Robert Edward Sidock

Robert Edward Sidock, March 4, 1941-January 18, 2025.

Robert Sidock, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at his home in La Porte, IN.

Robert was born March 4, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of George Sidock and Mary (Michuda) Sidock, who both preceded him in death. 

A proud alumnus of St. Joseph College in Rensselaer, Indiana, he graduated with a bachelor's degree that laid the groundwork for a successful career. Robert excelled as a sales manager at Bell Fibre, where he was highly respected for his work ethic and dedication to his profession. His passion for the job was palpable, and he inspired many with his commitment to excellence. Robert's life also included a period of honorable military service. He served in the Army from 1964 to 1970, demonstrating bravery and dedication to his country. This chapter of his life reflected his commitment to serving others, a quality that defined him throughout his life. On July 23, 1966, at St. John Bosco in Hammond, Indiana, Robert married the love of his life, Sandra (Salczynski) Sidock, who survives. An avid sports fan, Robert enjoyed bowling and golf, pursuing these activities with the same vigor he applied to his professional life. His enthusiasm for sports brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and family. Above all, Robert cherished his time spent with loved ones, always ensuring that family was a central part of his life.  

He is survived by three daughters, Narcine (Roger) Eggert of La Porte, IN, Ericka (Patrick) McDonald of Gibsonia, PA, Nicole Sidock of Davenport, IA; six grandchildren, Garrett Eggert, Quinlan Eggert, Reece Eggert, Reilly McDonald, Shawn McDonald, Owen McDonald. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. Celebration of life will be held at a later time. Cremation has taken place.
