Barbara E. Bartels, 91, from Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 4:13 pm in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. William O'Toole officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Friday at the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church Legacy Center. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born January 26, 1933, in Michigan City, IN to the late Paul E. and Minnie (Roskie) Buell. On September 4, 1954, in Michigan City, IN, she married George Bartels who preceded her on July 10, 2014.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy (Rick) Economy of Alta Loma, CA, Cathy (Tim) Glidden of Michigan City, IN, and Mary Ellen Bartels of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; three sons, Brian (Mary Beth) Bartels of Little Elm, TX, Steve (Judy) Bartels of La Porte, IN, and Mike Bartels of Aliso Viejo, CA; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Delores Grams of Michigan City, IN, Pauline Kalk of Trail Creek, IN and Carol (Jack) Johnson of Corona, CA.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Barbara was a member of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church and Queen of All Saints Rosary Sodality. She also volunteered at St. Anthony Hospital and Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. Barbara enjoyed traveling to visit her children.
