Barbara "Barb" Lynn Smeester, 68, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Brickyard Healthcare-Terrace Care Center.  

Barb was born on October 9, 1956, in La Porte, IN, to George Smeester and Florence Reed.

Surviving Barb is her half-sister, Jill (Mewbourne) Carlson of Westville, as well as Barb's extended family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Timothy A. Smeester.

Barb worked many years in electronics, at both Howmet and Aero Metals.  She also had a small cleaning business.  Barb was a member of the local PRCU.

She loved animals, music, and attending concerts.  Barb hosted many memorable 4th of July pool parties.  She was an intelligent woman with a friendly soul and an infectious smile.  Even in her last days, Barb was smiling.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
