Ann Marie Rudecki

Ann Marie Rudecki, 90, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024.

Ann was born September 5, 1934, to the late Thomas and Ann (Alai) Reed. She grew up in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Ann worked as an assistant tax collector with Piscataway Township, New Jersey.

On December 27, 1952, Ann married John E. McGowan Jr., who preceded her in death in 1987. Ann then married Bernard Ben Rudecki on April 6, 2013, in LaPorte, Indiana. They met at Sacred Heart Church in LaPorte, Indiana, and married for 11 years. Ben preceded her in death on November 29, 2024.

Ann is survived by a son, John (Debbie) McGowan III of LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Joe McGowan of St. Augustine, Florida; Ken McGowan of South Bend, Indiana; Katie (Ben) Compton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother-in-law; Tom (Barbara) Reed of Clarkdale, Arizona; 11 great-grandchildren, Coral, Jace, Britain and Kennan McGowan of St. Augustine, Florida; Stuart, Morgan, Madison, Emily, Olivia and Rowan McGowan of South Bend, Indiana and Collin Compton of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one great-great grandchild Avaya of St. Augustine, Florida. Ann was preceded in death by, her son; Daniel McGowan. Ann had six step-children with Ben, Randall L. (Beth) Rudecki of South Vienna, Ohio, Mary (Tom) Macigewski of Buchanan, Michigan, daughter-in-law, Karen Rudecki of Harvest, Alabama, Victoria Ann (Timothy) Krohn of Walkerton, Indiana, Michael F. (Susan) Rudecki of Walkerton, Indiana, Robert B. (Sheree) Rudecki of Walkerton, Indiana. There are 14 surviving step-grandchildren, Mark (Jill) Rudecki of Findlay, Ohio, Paul (Stephanie) Rudecki of Columbus, Ohio, Amy (Evan) Thornton of South Vienna, Ohio, Veronica Sawyer of Buchanan, Michigan, Caleb Sawyer of Buchanan, Michigan, Michael Rudecki of Huntsville, Alabama, Matthew Rudecki of Harvest, Alabama, Isaac Krohn of Plymouth, Indiana, Emily (Bryton) Shreve of Osceola, Indiana, Mollie Rudecki of Mishawaka, Indiana, Thomas Rudecki of Walkerton, Indiana, Jacob Rudecki of Mishawaka, Indiana. Justin Rudecki of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Julia Rudecki of Walkerton, Indiana; eight step-great-grandchildren: Julius, Elijah, Isaiah, and Evelyn Rudecki of Findlay, Ohio, Addison, Caison and Emerson Thornton of South Vienna, Ohio, Hudson Shreve of Osceola, Indiana, two more great-grandchildren due to arrive in 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, 1117 Indiana Avenue, La Porte, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 to 11 AM on December 26, 2024, at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel, prior to the services.

Burial will follow at Pinelake Cemetery.
