Daniel J. Stachowiak

Daniel J. Stachowiak, 71, of Westville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 2, 2024.  
He was born on October 10, 1953, in Michigan City.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Stachowiak and Geraldine (Richard) Werdin; and his son Nicholas Keller.  
On March 29, 1996, Daniel married the love of his life, Terri (Wilke) Keller, who survives.  
He retired after 47 years, as a steelworker from Bethlehem Steel/Arcelor Mittal.  Daniel loved playing Corn Hole, Golf, and Mexican Train (Dominos). He and his wife loved flying by the seat of their pants on many adventures together. Daniel also enjoyed kayaking, the South Bend Cubs, and being a huge Colts fan. “He just Believed.”  He was greatly loved by those who knew him and will be greatly missed.  
Also surviving are his daughters, Tanya (Mark) Dean of Las Vegas, Melissa Fuller of Las Vegas, and Denielle Dowell of Westville; brother Mike (Rita) Stachowiak of Michigan City; sister, LaDonna Mishler of Valparaiso; granddaughters, Taylor (Cole) Sommer of Las Vegas and Evelyn Dowell of Portage; grandsons, Logan and Gaige Creekbaum of Las Vegas; great-granddaughter, Kenzie Sommer of Las Vegas; great-grandson, Carson Sommer of Las Vegas; many nieces and nephews that he absolutely adored.  

Dan leaves those who love him with these final words; “Roses are red.  Violets are blue.  I am in heaven now too”.  
Cremation will take place.  Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100, is caring for the arrangements.  No services are scheduled at this time.  
Memorials can be made to St. Luke United Lutheran Church 2000 E Coolspring Ave, Michigan City, IN 46360.
