Keanan E. Kolasa, October 7, 1983 - November 21, 2024.  
Keanan E. Kolasa, 41, from Michigan City, Indiana, passed away on Thursday,
November 21, 2024, at 12:43 p.m. in Franciscan Health - Michigan City.  
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral chapel.  
He was born on October 7, 1983, in Michigan City, Indiana.  Surviving are his children, Jontez Kolasa and Maria Kolasa, and their mother Najah Kolasa, all of Michigan City, Indiana; his mother, Connie Kolasa of Michigan City, Indiana; three siblings, Samantha Garner, Tashia Kolasa, and Andrew Kolasa, all of Michigan City, Indiana; three nieces, Aubree, Kyla, and Ameah Kolasa; three nephews, Keenan Garner, Andre McFadden, and Andrew Kolasa, Jr.; and four great nieces, A'meera,
Alaysia, Trezure, and Jahzara.

He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Warren Kolasa; maternal grandparents, Annabelle and David Bailey; paternal grandparents, Henry and Dorothy Kolasa; and one nephew, Justin Garner.  
Keanan worked as a laborer in construction for as long as anyone could remember. He was passionate about many things, a true jack of all trades, like his father. He remodeled the house he and his kids called home.  He even helped build his parents' new home after their previous one caught on fire.  Though Keanan and Najah were no longer married, they shared a bond centered around their children, whom he loved deeply.  Keanan was a devoted father to Jontez and Maria. Some of their favorite memories are sledding at Pines Park and enjoying steaks at  Galveston.  He enjoyed racing RC cars, playing Call of Duty, and eating at his favorite restaurant, “Up N Smoke”.  He also enjoyed watching his favorite show, The Simpsons. Keanan was an all-time Steelers fan and loved UFC fights.  He had a funny sense of humor, a big heart, and cared deeply for others.  
He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his efforts to remain a consistent and caring presence in their lives.  While he will be missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, especially his children.
