Rose Marie Budz, November 11, 1942 - October 25, 2024.
Rose Marie Budz, 81, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, in Silver Birch of Michigan City, IN after a long illness.
Rose was born on November 11, 1942, to the late Sebastian and Anna (Buczyna) Budz in the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago. She attended St. Joseph High School and Prairie State College. She was a registered Dental Hygienist for many years in Chicago and Oak Lawn, Illinois. Rose had a passion for traveling all over the world and U.S. with her beloved sister, cousins and friends. She was part of a lifelong and close-knit group of girlfriends since elementary school, nick-named the “Debs” with Barbara, Joanne, Eleanor & Tina. Rose cherished spending time with her large family including many cousins, brothers, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Surviving are her brother, Richard (Dolores) Budz; sister-in-law, Florence Budz; six nieces and nephews, Timothy (Maripat) Budz, Maryann (Ralph) Denny, Joseph (Diane) Budz, Kenneth (Sherri) Budz, Sandra (Steve) Urbaniak, Jeff (Karla) Budz and eighteen great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and best friend, Virginia Budz; and three brothers, Eugene, Edwin, and Joseph Budz.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, IN with Rev. Jordan Fetcko officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the Queen of All Saints Legacy Center. Burial will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.
The family wishes to acknowledge her cousin, Vickie Parrett of LaPorte, IN, for her care and compassion shown to Rose throughout her life and her final years. Also, all the dedicated caretakers at Silver Birch.
