Lucia A. Tower, 80, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 10:15 am in Michigan City, IN. Private family services will be conducted. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.
She was born April 12, 1944, in Seattle, WA to the late Lawrence and Anne (Koss) Tower.
Surviving is her daughter, Michelle (Howard Heffron) Mellen of Michigan City, IN; two grandsons, Richard Houck and Troy Houck; two granddaughters, Alexandra (Kai) Buchholz and Claire (Paul) Schoenborn; a great-granddaughter, Eliana Houck; her former spouse and friend, Mike Smallwood.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Andrew Tower.
She was a member of St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, Beverly Shores, IN, and Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, Michigan City, IN. Lucia grew up in Beverly Shores and was a school bus driver for Michigan City Schools for many years. She enjoyed camping, hiking, and spending time with her family. Lucia also raised many different types of animals but especially loved her cats.
