Jerome M. "Jerry O" Owczarski, 81, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 9:28 pm in Brickyard Healthcare-Terrace Care Center, La Porte, IN.  
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at
Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN, with  Brother Shaun Gray CSC officiating. Private burial will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.  
He was born February 23, 1943, in Michigan City, IN to the late Walter and Lillian (Jankowski) Owczarski. In August of 1965 in Michigan City, IN he married Jennifer Schmidt who survives in La Porte, IN.  Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy (Patrick) Reynolds of La Porte, IN, and Tiffany (Jeff Shew) Owczarski of Bloomington, IN; son, Ian (Catina) Owczarski of Rolling Prairie, IN; and three grandchildren,
Connor Reynolds, Walter Shew, and Desmond Shew.  
Jerry retired after 53 years as the frozen food and dairy manager at Jewel-Osco in Michigan City, IN. He and his wife formerly owned Little Tavern II in Rolling Prairie, IN. Jerry was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He enjoyed bowling, dancing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
