Doris M. Eldridge, 95, of La Porte, IN, passed away on October 7, 2024 at Northwest Health La Porte.  Doris was born on August 16, 1929, in Walkerton, IN, to Orville and Norma (Tinkey) Gensinger. She resided in La Porte for most of her life.

In September 1947, Doris married Carl W. Johnson. Together they had two children, Judy and Carl. After Carl's passing, Doris married Wilfred "Bud" M. Eldridge on March 9, 1961, in La Porte, IN. Together, Bud and Doris had one daughter, Stacy. Surviving Doris are her two daughters, Stacy J. Parker of Michigan City and Judy L. Blair of Dayton OH; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great, great-grandchildren.  

Her parents preceded her death; her first husband, Carl W. Johnson; her second husband, Bud Eldridge; her son, Carl B. Johnson; and her sister, Lavaun Hunt.

Doris was a homemaker who took pride in tending to her home and beloved pets. She enjoyed crocheting and playing various games with her family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at noon on Monday, October 14, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Dennis Pickens officiating. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the service time.
