John M. Bosak Sr., a dedicated family man and skilled mechanic, passed away peacefully at his home on September 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 4, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, and spent his life touching the hearts of those around him with his unwavering support and gentle spirit.
John was affectionately known as "MacGyver" for his remarkable ability to fix anything. His friends and family admired his talents as a builder and his passion for refinishing furniture. John found joy in life's simple pleasures, including fishing and golfing. These hobbies were often shared moments with his family, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. A highlight of his recent years involved the special project he undertook with his son, Tom, restoring Tom's beloved 1968 Roadrunner, a testament to their strong bond and shared love for mechanics. In addition to his many skills and interests, John proudly served in the Illinois National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Throughout his life, he was a source of unwavering support for his family, always there to lend a helping hand or offer comforting words during challenging times.
John is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his son, Tom (Tara Bernette) Bosak Jr.; his daughter, Laurie (Doug Pierro) Bosak; and his brother, Jerry Bosak. He was a cherished grandfather to Abigal (Ryan) Heaps and Justin Bosak and a proud great-grandfather to Wade Heaps and Emma Heaps, with another great-grandchild on the way.
He rejoins his parents, John and Angeline Bosak, and his sister, Jeannie Bosak, in eternal rest. John M. Bosak Sr. will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He left behind a legacy of love, dedication, and skill that will be cherished in the hearts of his family forever.
On September 25, 1965, in Midlothian, IL, married Kathy Bosak who survives celebrating almost 60 years together.
