Nancy J. Bixler, 88, from Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Thursday,
September 5, 2024, at 7:00 pm surrounded by family at Ignite Medical Resort, Chesterton, Indiana. Private family services will take place at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana.
She was born March 11, 1936, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Kenneth G. and Genevieve T.(Walong) Brinckman. On December 18, 1954, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married Roger E. Bixler who survives in Michigan City, Indiana along with a daughter, Kenlynn (Matt) Swenson of Michigan City, Indiana; son, Michael (Jean) Bixler of Battle Creek, Michigan; two grandchildren, Maggie Bixler, Greggory Bixler; and two great-grandchildren, Spencer and Breanna Campbell; two sisters, Marsha
Pawloski of La Porte, Indiana, Rebecca (Rick) Doperalski of La Porte, Indiana; brother, Craig Brinckman of Michigan City, Indiana; She was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Brinckman Wilson.
Earlier in her working career, Nancy was secretary for Edgewood Elementary School, Michigan City, Indiana. She was known as "Busia" to all her family and friends. She enjoyed doing handy work around her home, camping with family and friends, and sewing, but her greatest love was always being available to aid the needs of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to recognize the Dunes Hospice Group and Ignite Medical Resort for the kindness and care shown to Nancy and her family.
