Keith Charles Bancroft, 82, of Michigan City, passed away on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024.

He was born on September 11, 1941, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Edgar and Theola M. (Krueger) Bancroft.

Keith is survived by his two sons, Scott (Kelly) Bancroft of South Bend, Indiana and Ty (Lynn Sarti) Bancroft of Rolling Prairie, Indiana; sister-in-law, Yvonne Bancroft; two grandchildren, Joseph (Josie) Caban and Diana (Kenny Koch) Caban; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Josephine, and Jackson; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Bancroft; and cousin, Cheryl Connelly.

Keith served in the United States Army Signal Corp at the start of the Cold War. He helped his family start a mobile home park and golf course business.

Keith was an electrician for over 50 years and retired as an electrical contractor in LaPorte, Indiana. After retiring, he was able to aimlessly and extensively travel the United States visiting every national park and roadside attraction that crossed his path.

Keith taught a Bible study in his home to anyone who took an interest. He imparted wise counsel to two generations of family and friends, whether they thought they needed it or not.

Keith was affiliated with the Indiana Freemasons for more than 50 years. He was a Past Master of Acme Lodge #83, Michigan City, and a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite, and Orak Shrine in Michigan City. A Masonic graveside service open to friends and family will be held at 2:00 p.m. CDT, Sunday, August 25th, 2024 at Greenwood Cemetery, Michigan City.

A Funeral Reception and Luncheon will follow the service at 3:00 p.m. CDT at Shriners International Orak Shrine Center, 3848 Frontage Rd., Michigan City, Indiana. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling the arrangements.
