Adeline Jagodka

Adeline Jagodka passed away peacefully on August 6, 2024. She was born on August 28, 1928, in La Porte, Indiana to Bernard and Rozalia (Przednowek) Bym.

On October 3, 1953, she married La Verne C. Jagodka who preceded her in death on October 10, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters: Judith Fitzhugh, Janice (Bryan) Jones, and Jacque (Terry) Gaddy. Adeline was the loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Jacob Fitzhugh, Carrie-Anne (Fitzhugh) Neuhoff, Kristen (Fitzhugh) Williams, Jessica and Anna Gaddy, Christopher Jones and Brittney (Jones) Leibham. Adeline also had five great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kenneth, brother Joseph Bym, and sisters Irene Livengood and Genevieve (Jenny) Bernacchi. Adeline was an avid reader and gardener. She retired from American Home Foods and the LaPorte Public Library. Adeline attended the LaPorte Business College and was a longtime Terra Verde Garden Club member.

She was known for her keen wit and kind heart and was loved tremendously by family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.

There will be no visitation per her wishes, with a private family burial at a later date at Pine Lake Cemetery.
