Phyllis S. Hedstrom

Phyllis S. Hedstrom, 101, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at 2:45 am in Miller's Health & Rehab, La Porte, Indiana.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 29, 2024 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Jeanoma Babcock officiating. Private burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, IN. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday at the funeral chapel.

She was born January 10, 1923 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late John and Hilma (Volksdorf) Schudorick. On December 27, 1941 in Newport News, VA she married Kenneth Hedstrom who preceded her on September 28, 2015.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan (Steve) Pollock of Layton, UT; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sally (Dan) Cole and Janis (Doug) Kiff; three sisters, Margaret Hartke, Marian Kimmel and Jeanette Tiedeman; and two brothers, John Schudorick and Willard Schudorick. Phyllis had worked as an executive secretary at Blocksom & Company.

She was a member of St. Luke United Lutheran Church and WELCA. Phyllis was an avid reader, enjoyed going to Casinos and had an extensive VHS movie collection.
