Karen S. Griffin

November 21, 1972 - July 14, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Karen Stransky Griffin at Northwestern Hospital, Chicago, on July 14, 2024 with her loving husband at her side.

Although she was a courageous fighter of all her chronic illnesses for many years, this was a sudden passing.

Karen was the beloved wife of Daniel Griffin of 31 years, loving mother of Nicholas (Brittany), sister Laura Stransky Ruhe (Mark), nephews Charles and William, aunts, uncles and cousins, and a proud dog mom of her Golden fur babies Mackenzie and Reagan.

Karen was born November 21, 1972 to Glenn and Kathleen Schurko Stransky in Michigan City.

She graduated from Elston High School where she met her husband Daniel, attended Indiana State University, and they were married on June 5, 1993.

Karen devoted her life to her family and making memories with her family and friends.

She loved music. Karen was an amazing homemaker and enjoyed cooking, camping, motorcycle riding, and vacationing in The Smokey Mountains.

Karen was the owner of K & L Supply, Inc. and a member of The Women of the Moose 935.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 19, 2024 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Brother Shaun Gray CSC officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday and from 9:00 am - 10:00 am Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
