Marcia Kay Bisconti, 60, of Loves Park, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born July 6th, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Richard Lashua and Kay Florence (Smith) Lashua.
A long-time resident of La Porte County, Marcia graduated from La Porte High School and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She worked in Data Retention for Howmet until her retirement in 2008. On November 22nd, 2008, Marcia married Robert "Bob" Bisconti and moved with him to Loves Park, Illinois, where she continued her career as the Executive Assistant for Bisconti Computers. Marcia was a devout Baptist whose faith was the driving force behind everything that she did. She was a member of both the First Baptist Church of Kingsbury, Indiana, and the Fellowship Baptist Church on South Beloit, Illinois. Marcia enjoyed giving something from herself that others would love and enjoy, so she created dolls quilts, and various craft items for all of her children and grandchildren. An avid gardener, her strawberry patch produced perfect strawberries so that she could make her famous strawberry jam that everyone loved. Marcia was an enthusiastic Cubs fan and loved big family gatherings, especially birthdays and Christmas. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother who brought joy to so many through her passion in serving God and her family. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Bob; her mother, Kay; son, Lorin J.L. (Suelen) Hickman of Poplar Grove, IL; two daughters, Emily E.L. Hickman of Indianapolis, IN, Kaitlyn K.L. Curry of Cape Carteret, NC; step-son, Robert G Bisconti of Rockford, IL; two step-daughters, Jennifer (Zach) Goodwin of Pensacola, FL, Lauren Bisconti of Henderson, NV; brother, Wayne (Tish) Lashua of Ft. Mitchell, KY; two sisters, Melissa (James) Wingett of New Carlisle, IN, Leslie (JR) Francis of La Porte, IN; sister-in-law, Sandra (Steve) Ensalaco of Hoffman Estates, IL; nine grandchildren, Vivien Kay Kendall, George L Curry, William B Curry, Katie Bisconti, Davide Bisconti, Bryson Goodwin, Cameron Goodwin, Roberto Caranza, Aryannah Caranza, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Richard, and son, Derrick J Lashua.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. On Monday, June 24th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., a funeral service will take place at Kingsbury First Baptist Church, 4988 S. Range Rd, La Porte (Kingsbury), IN 46350, with a gathering from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Pastor Tim Williams will officiate and interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery.
