Arlene B. Cohan, 77, of La Porte, IN, passed away on June 19th, 2024, at Chesterton Manor.

 

Arlene was born on January 12th, 1947, in Gary, IN, to Archabold and Rose (Lovine) Cohan.

 

Surviving Arlene is her brother, Arthur Cohan of La Porte; nieces, Ann (Jim) Shaffer of La Porte, Adele (Chris) Riffle of Burghill, OH, and Amy Cohan of La Porte; great-nephew, Spenser (Kait Saxe) Shaffer of Hobart; and great-nieces, Mika DePofi of Carrollton, GA, Grace Shaffer of La Porte, and Rebekah Shaffer of La Porte.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Agnes Simmons.

 

Arlene worked in technical services at the Gary Public Library for over 40 years.  She enjoyed singing with the Polish choir. 

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24th, 2024, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Albertin officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
